Church hospitality

Volunteers in the Hospitality Ministry welcome others in the name of Christ, extend a hand of fellowship, and encourage participation in the life of the church. Hospitality servants meet, greet, and guide guests during services. If you are interested in assisting in any of the below areas, please contact us at office@fumcharlingen.org.

"Offer hospitality to one another...Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."  1 Peter 4:9- 10

sunday morning ushers

Our ushers welcome those who enter our doors for worship, distribute Sunday bulletins, pass the offering plates, and assist clergy as needed. They contribute to a pleasant worship experience.

Welcome center

Help with coordinating refreshments and information displays. Greet all visitors who enter and cheerfully answer any questions.

worship space helpers

Refresh pew holders with pencils, tithing envelopes, and any other materials. Ensure our House of Worship is tidy for all who enter.

serve communion

Offer the elements to those attending the Service. We generally offer Communion the first Sunday of every month. All are welcome to receive.

new member welcome team

Upon joining the church, the team welcomes new members by presenting them with their new member packet, including new member form, taking their picture, and answering any questions they may have about getting connected at FUMC. Each team usually serves one Sunday of the month.

SMALL Groups

Small groups meet on Sunday mornings and include our adult and children's ministries. Our Youth also meets on Sunday evenings. We love having extra hands to serve these important areas of ministry at FUMC. It is also a great way to get to know fellow members and staff!
